With a clear sound and just enough punch to make them enjoyable, these are my favourite closed back headphones for under 1k. The wooden finish gives it a great touch of style and the removable cable is an added bonus although you won't need to play the cable game as the included cable is extremely high quality.

Fostex has recently launched a new model TH610, which is a successor to the TH600. It belongs to the finest TH series line together with the traditional TH900 and the fresh TH900mk2.
Design
The new TH610 exhibits the detachable cable connection and appealing matte finished black walnut casings along with the powerful 1 tesla (1,000 gauss) magnetic circuit and the reputed bio-dynamic 50mm diaphragm. This potent magnetic circuit offer wide dynamic range reproduction with low distortion. Also, the connected part is layered with a long lasting rhodium material. Ear pads uses artificial leather made low repulsion cushion material that helps in comfortable fitting. This headphone comes with fine quality Hi-FC cable along with the detachable 2-pin connector.
Improved Sound
TH-610 offers more balanced sound. This model comes with the unique “bio-dyna” diaphragm, which helps in providing rich lows, natural mid-range and smooth highs.
