iBasso refreshes the IT01 with the new IT01S, bringing a fresh design and a revised driver. The IT01S comes in a grey or blue finish. The IT01S also includes a new detachable MMCX cable with braided 5N mono crystal copper wires and a silver plated shield. The cable is terminated with a 2.5mm balanced connector for use with DAPs like the Fiio M9 and Astell & Kern SR15, and a 2.5mm balanced to 3.5mm adapter also included for standard connections to other devices. The earphones themselves are a light-weight 8.0g without the cable, and ergonomically designed to fit securely in the ear, making the IT01S a good choice for music on the go. They come with a protective carrying case, a good selection of silicone and foam tips, and 2 screens to replace the installed ones if wax buildup blocks sound.
The IT01S features a new carbon nanotube dome diaphragm with a high tesla flux. The result is a brighter and cleaner sound compared to the IT01, with more detail in high frequencies. The sound is energetic and vibrant. If you prefer a smoother sound signature, we recommend having a look at the Final Audio E4000 or AZLA Horizon.
