Campfire Audio is a Portland, Oregon company that makes amazing high-end earphones, headphones, and in-ear monitors (IEMs). Their latest, the Atlas and the Comet, are IEMs for audiophiles and professionals with various budgets. The $299 Comet is a low-cost version of the $1899 Atlas. Both are durable and beautiful, hand-made from drop forged stainless steel, CNC machined, and polished to a mirror finish.
The Atlas uses a large, 10mm Amorphous Diamond-Like Carbon (ADLC ) diaphragm dynamic driver. ADLC is a hybrid of non-crystalline diamond and graphite for superior frequency response and minimal distortion. Its overall frequency response is an impressive 5 – 20,000 Hz with 105 dB SPL/mW sensitivity and less than 1% total harmonic distortion. It sounds fantastic.
Carefully designed angles, smooth surfaces, and weight distribution provide excellent ergonomics. Each pair ships with a selection of Campfire Audio Marshmallow Tips, silicone earphone tips, and SPINFIT tips, each in various sizes. They allow any user to find the best possible comfort.
The gear includes a tangle-resistant litz wire made from pure silver. Its detachable beryllium and copper MMCX connectors allow modular replacement with higher quality than the usual brass construction. The 3.5mm plug is made from the same material.
Care and craftsmanship are apparent. Designed and assembled in Portland, each earphone is tested individually and paired with its perfect left or right counterpart.
Packaged with love, each IEM is nestled in its own tiny, soft pouch. The pair comes with the customary black Campfire Audio carrying case, a cleaning brush, and a Campfire Audio lapel pin.
