Based in Berwyn, Illinois, ZMF was founded by Zach Mehrbach, who began the journey of a headphone manufacturer by modding Fostex T50RPs in his basement. This was the seed that would eventually become unique proprietary designs, and eventually a workshop and a team of artisans regularly producing headphones. ZMF makes every headphone with these core values: 1. Design inspired by a classic foundation with modern acoustic technology. 2. Handbuilt by a craftsman, not a production line. 3. Completely modular headphone designs that will with-stand the test of time through the ability to make easy repairs. 4.
