These days, the audio frontier becomes dynamic with the support of HDMI, USB, FireWire and Ethernet connections. Even though, picking up the best analog interconnectors and speaker cables are as crucial as ever. The S/P-DIF (Sony Philips Digital InterFace), which came into highlight in 1983 along with the CD, is still used in today’s world. In electronic domain, Digital Coax and Toslink fiber optics (EIA-J) are some of the widely used cables that transmit S/P-DIF.

High-quality Fiber Optic Cable

As compared to standard Toslink cables, AudioQuest Forest Optilink is a rebellion in the genre of fiber optic cable designs. Instead of a single plastic conductor, the Forest Optilink uses numerous highly polished polymer fibers. Such kind of polymer fibers works more competently in directing light (information). As compared to any other optical cable, these polymer fibers provide greater resolution and better tone quality to the Forest Optilink.

Better Digital Transmission

Forest Optilink holds great strength of shrinking low noise and zero mechanical noise of Toslink cables. Optilink have performed outstandingly, even with coaxial digital cables that are correspondingly priced.

Furthermore, AudioQuest Forest Toslink renders few benefits i.e. galvanic isolation and electrical isolation. It stops the presence of RF interference over the cable. To attain an improved digital audio signal with less distortion, the Toslink employs low-dispersion fiber with precision-polished fiber ends. Commonly, a long 1.0mm diameter optical fiber is used that comes with few impurities or imperfections, and distress the light to bend, scatter and transfer at dissimilar optical angles. On the contrary, Toslink cable uses several small fibers in a 1.0mm diameter bundle that limit the volume of bend and dispersion, which in result, transmit maximum light at the decoder with better time management. It decreases dispersion, jitter timing errors and signal loss. Also, it improves the coherency and timing of the light to get optimum digital conversion and more precise sound audio.
