Review:

I love my ZX2. I already own an Astell & Kern 120, which is terrific; but the Sony is much easier to use, has a much better display and the sound quality is just as good. It drives my Oppo PM-1 headphones beautifully and also sounds great with my Shure SE846 IEMs on the train. Having an SD card means that its capacity is effectively limitless.

Any criticisms? Just one. Once the screen is locked (which is does after a set time) you cannot change the volume without turning it back on. This means it has to be removed from the carry case and the screen unlocked; whereas the pause and track forward buttons can be operated with the cover on and the screen locked. A little bit annoying.

On balance though, this is a very good product for those of us who despise the horrible lossy compressed sound that has become dominant since the rise of ghastly MP3.

Well done Sony.
