This means you can store and listen to a staggering 675 music tracks on a single Hi-MD disc. What’s more, you won’t need to re-record material stored on previous generation media since the unit also supports older standard MiniDiscs.
And whether it’s the sound of a musical instrument, the voice of your child or a business briefing you need to record, the MZRH1 will allow you to do so using Linear PCM (44.1 kHz/16bit) CD quality sound recording. Being the most suitable media for long term storage, the Hi-MD format will also ensure high durability against sunlight, magnetism and scratch.

The MZRH1 supports all popular digital audio formats – ATRAC, MP3, WMA and WAV – and allows you to record from multiple sources including USB-in, Mic-in, Analogue-in and Digital-in. Apple Mac users can now upload material to the MZRH1 just as easily to PC users thanks to newly-developed Hi-MD Music Transfer for Mac ver.1.0 software supplied with each unit. This allows you to upload recorded content to a Mac PC in Linear PCM/Hi-SP/Hi-LP mode as WAV files. Similarly, users can now download Linear PCM/MP3 files from a Mac PC by simply downloading an application from the Sony support website.

The MZRH1 allows you to make unlimited compilation discs of your favourite tracks at lightening speeds by downloading from your PC. That’s because every model is supplied with SonicStage for Windows software for easy music management and the possibility to transfer 100 minutes of your favourite music to your Hi-MD WALKMAN in just one minute.
With SonicStage you can also upload new analogue recordings from your MZRH1 to your PC and convert them into WAV files for editing and saving.
The software also enables legacy MD contents to be recovered at high speed as digital music and uploaded to a PC. For additional convenience, when it uploads the recorded content, SonicStage ensures the date and time of your recording are automatically registered on each disc via a built-in clock.
